A healthy society is an empowered society. An empowered society is an enabled society. Life and livelihood are like air and water for societal development. The MPR Society, with the help of Mr. Sekhar Kammula, Film Director, Telugu Film Industry along with Mr. Manohar Reddy contributed 3 lakh rupees for the construction of a Public Healthcare Center (PHC) in the village. The PHC reported zero maternal and infant deaths in the village to date.

To improve the livelihood of the villagers below the poverty line, the MPR Society approached banks to sanction 122 micro-enterprise loans. The loans were granted to all families in the village below the poverty line, with heed to families belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Backward Caste (BC). The MPR Society also provides the village youth with 720 job cards. Today, our Smart Villagers are equipped with functional bank accounts.

Farming is the backbone of the rural economy, MPR Society has always placed farming above all livelihood sources. The MPR Society educated 914 farmers in the village on soil compatibility to crops through expert advice on the latest scientific farming methods. Today, the Smart Uppalapadu’s farmers are equipped with 1086 soil health cards.
